Big Novel

Once Jason woke up he was informed by one of Stefan's henchmen that they were about thirty minutes away from his sisters flat, a mixture of emotions went through Jason's mind he felt relieved he had managed to escape death, anxious about seeing his sister again who ran away just to escape him, and a little guilty about what he was doing to do to her.

He had no way of paying back the money so as soon as the opportunity came he planned to leave London and go on the run. He knew that meant he would be leaving his sister at Stefan's mercy but by the way, Stefan

looked at the photo of Lilly and spoke about her which so much lust he was confident Stefan wouldn't kill his sister or hurt her- too badly. He felt slightly guilty about what he was about to do but the way he saw it he didn't have much choice Stefan would kill him whereas the worse that would happen to Lilly is she will have to sleep with Stefan and who knows, by the way, Stefan was looking at her photo it might be enjoyable both for Stefan and his sister Jason tried to ease his guilty conscience by telling himself. But no matter

what he tried to force himself into believing Jason felt guiltier with every mile they traveled closer to his sister.

They arrived at Lilly's flat around midnight and after knocking and receiving no reply the henchmen picked the lock and forced Jason inside to wait on his sister.

Lilly left the retirement home where she had just completed a long twelve-hour shift and walked towards her favourite coffee shop around the corner. It was her new morning routine since moving here, Lilly worked long twelve-hour shifts 6 pm-6 am five days a week and after her shift, she always bought a coffee and croissant to take home and because of her routine she had become a regular in the coffee shop and got to know the elderly owners well.

On her one day off a week, she baked like she used to with her mother and donated the cakes she made to the local church for their weekly bake sales to raise money for projects within the community and then volunteered at the homeless shelter, meaning she got to know a lot of her new neighbours too and she had become a well-liked and respected member of her new community. Despite being welcomed into her new community and becoming friendly with her neighbours she hadn't made strong connections with anyone as she did with her friends in London and she missed London and Abby and Matt terribly, she knew it could never happen with Mr. Sinclair and possibly her brother a danger to her but she dreamed of one day returning to London and reuniting with her friends-for now however since she had no real friends here she had thrown herself into her work and worked those long shifts so she could save for her future and so far she had managed to save £5000 something she was incredibly proud of. She may not have been happy here like she was in London but she was safe

and content with her peaceful life and that would do - for now.

However, as Lilly made her way home after her brief stop for coffee she was completely unaware that safety and contentment were about to be threatened.

Lilly opened her flat door and kicked off her shoes- her feet were killing her along with her tired muscles and she was looking forward to her coffee and then taking a relaxing bath to ease her aches and pains, however, she would never get to enjoy any of those, as she entered the door from her hallway into her lounge a figure stepped out of the shadows and grabbed Lilly, spilling her coffee as a hand wrapped around her mouth muffling her screams of fear.

Lilly trashed wildly fearing she was the victim of a robbery that her untimely arrival home had interrupted and worried they will now hurt her to keep her silent or worse maybe Mr. Sinclair had finally caught up with her, the voice she heard next however made her freeze in fear despite it being the last voice she expected to hear. "Stop kicking me please, it's Jason and I am not here to hurt you."

"Jason?!" Lilly mumbled behind his hand.

"Yes, it's me and I am not here to hurt you, I am here because I need your help. I am going to remove my hand so we can talk ... please, Lilly, don't scream okay?" Jason asked and when she nodded he slowly removed his hand from her move but kept his tight hold on her keeping her facing away from him.

"Jason, why are you here?" Lilly asked fearfully.

"I am here because despite the fact you left London to get away from me and hate me I am in trouble and only you can help me," Jason admitted relaxing his hold on her slightly.

"I don't hate you, Jason..." Lilly replied emotionally unable to tell her brother the truth for fear Mr. Sinclair would hurt him.

"I wouldn't blame you if you did Lilly, I deserve it after all," Jason said genuinely sad that he forced his sister to run away from him and feeling guilty for what he was about to do next but thinking he had no other choice. "Anyway, the reason why I came is that I did something really stupid and now my life's in danger and only you can help save it," Jason asked in a tone that pleaded with her to help.

"What did you do? I don't know how I can help Jason but I am willing to do what I can." Lilly said meaning every word- he was after all her brother and despite the way, he treated her she didn't want him dead.

Jason spent the next fifteen minutes explaining how he had stupidly stolen from the Mafia and how the Mafia Boss had found out and threatened to kill him.

Jason, however, knew his sister would never give herself up as collateral so since the henchmen were waiting in the kitchen out of ear shot he had lied to her and he told her he owed the Mafia a measly £10,000 and that the Mafia Boss had done a background check and after finding out Jason had a sister he had agreed to allow Jason to have until the end of the end to pay back the money but only if Lilly came to London and handed the Mob Boss their fathers watch in person as collateral and then waited on Jason with the Mob Boss coming back that evening with the remaining money

Lilly took a deep breath, Jason was asking a lot of her but if his life really was in danger she had no choice.

"I can't say honestly that want to do this, it's very frightening the thought of meeting a Mob Boss...but if your life really is in danger and this is

the only way of course i will come with you if you promise i will only be in London for a few hours and back out of London quickly." Lilly said fearing the repercussions if Mr. Sinclair found out she was in London, it may have seemed stupid to fear Mr Sinclair at the minute when she was about to face a Mob Boss but Lilly had never met the Mob Boss but she had the misfortune of knowing how cruel Mr Sinclair could be first hand and so at the minute she feared Mr Sinclair more.

"Do you honestly have £10,000 though Jason?" Lilly asked

anxiously.

"Dad's watch is worth about £3000 Lilly and the rest i have in my bank or my friends will give to me, it'll me easy enough to get." Jason lied so easily.

"I have £5000 in savings i will bring that as extra collateral just in case your friends can't contribute, £2000 should be easy enough for you to find shouldn't it?" Lilly asked trustingly and Jason felt so guilty in that moment that he considered telling her the truth but the pain throbbing in his finger made that idea leave his head quickly as he reminded himself that there was no way he could get £100,000 and Stefan would kill him whereas Lilly

would be fine- most likely.

"Yeah it will be easy enough." Jason said letting go of his sister and she turned slowly to face her brother.

"Oh, Jason!" Lilly gasped seeing that her brothers face was swollen and bleeding, "Oh what have they done to you?" Lilly asked as she gently stroked his face and stared at him with wide innocent eyes full of sisterly concern that again made him feel incredibly guilty.

"I am fine Lilly honest it was just a beating as a warning but i won't be if we don't get doing soon, he gave me a deadline." Jason said pushing his emotions to the side and focused on his self preservation.

"Of course sorry, can i quickly do and get changed and grab the money from my room, before we go?" Lilly asked looking at her nurses uniform that was now stained with coffee.

"Sure just don't be long his henchmen are waiting in your kitchen and Mobsters aren't known for their patience." Jason said allowing his sister the small courtesy.

"Thank you Jason, there's a first aid kit under the kitchen sink whilst i am getting ready." Lilly said in genuine concern that made what ever conscious Jason had scream at him inside his head not to do this but as Lilly walked away Jason swallowed the warning in favour of his own well being once again.

Lilly and Jason had endured a awkward four hour journey back to London and had finally made it to the club.

One of the heavy muscled henchmen got out of the car and opened the door at Lilly's side gesturing for her to get out. Lilly down cast her eyes and silently obeyed his command and waited for her brother to do the same but as Jason went to step out the car the henchman still inside the car next to

her brother grabbed him and pulled him back inside making Lilly start to panic.

"The Boss left strict instructions that you were not to step foot inside his club unless you were here with his money of here to face your execution so you can say your goodbyes from the car." The henchman inside the car growled at Jason giving him a deadly glare but his gaze softened a little as he looked at Lilly who looked like innocent fearful angel.

" Jason..." Lilly said fearfully.

"It will be alright Lilly he won't hurt you." Jason said praying his words were true," You're just here for collateral."

"Okay I will offer him the collateral and then see you soon right?" Lilly asked nervously unaware she was the collateral the Mob Boss was expecting and not cash and a watch, both of which may seem expensive to them but to Stefan who was a billionaire there value was equal to penny's.

"Of course... Lilly... I need you to know I am sorry and... I do love you." Jason said with genuine emotion as a critical voice inside his head whispered in a disgusted tone " Just not enough to man up and do the right thing."

"I love you too Jason and it's okay I forgive you." Lilly replied assuming her brother was apologising simply for getting her into this situation and not for the cowardly actions he was about to commit.

The henchman outside started to drag Lilly towards the club not

wanting to keep his Boss waiting any longer and she looked over her shoulder to see her brothers sad and guilty looking face one last time before his door was slammed shut and the car sped away.
